Wine and Culinary Tour
LeChaim and BiTeavon
Until a few years ago no one would have thought of Israel as a location for wine and culinary experience. Israel was about history, about religious experiences, about archeology, about battles for survival. Israel continues to remember its past but lives in a vital present.
Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and the valleys and mountains that surround them — the Galilee and the Golan Heights — offer a rich and varied assortment of high quality wine and foods. Israel, which knew the influences of many conquerors throughout the ages benefited from the influence of Arab cuisine and later Jewish immigrants influenced the wine and culinary scene in the 19th century. After the founding of the State, the many immigrants (from over 80 countries) brought with them their ethnic preferences and began to influence the local wine and culinary scene.
In the first Aliyah in the late 19th and early 20th century, Israel began to develop its wine industry in its earliest settlements and cities. The tradition of wine and wineries has continued to evolve over the years and today Israel is known internationally for its fine wines.
Usually, when people think about mouth-watering cooking vacations or wine tours they typically think of Italy or France or even the Napa valley in California. Today Israel has developed an authentic wine and food culture offering a wealth of colorful, rich, and delicious choices. Israel is the perfect spot for a unique wine and culinary experience.
