Israel Celebration Tours has collaborated with Rabbi and biblical studies teacher Don Peterman to offer you a once-in-a-lifetime journey with fellow students of the Bible in the holyland. To accomodate for varying preferences for physical activity during your tour, two itineraries are provided below. The first itinerary includes a more physically active schedule, with more hiking and walking tours. The second itinerary is designed for less strenuous activity and a more leisurely pace. Sunday - Day 1 Arrival

We transfer to Tel Aviv where we will visit Yafo, the town Jonah set sail from and

overlook St. Peter’s Church - from there he went to spread the Word; and it is here we

begin our trip. (If it is a morning arrival, we will visit Caesarea).

Overnight: Haifa


Monday - Day 2

We begin our day with a visit to Nazareth and the Church of the Annuniation and

Domus Ecclesia. We will hike from the Arbel to Ginosar, with a view of the Ginosar

Valley. We will visit the Migdal synagogue where Jesus read from the Torah and

Mary Magdelena lived. We continue hiking the Kineret trail to the Jesus boat at

Ginosar. (total hiking 10k/6mi.)

Overnight - Haifa or Tiberias


Tuesday - Day 3

We will visit the Biblical village of Khorazim-cursed by Jesus. We will hike to

Capernaum (5k/3mi.) Visit Carpernaum, Peter’s home and synagogue. Take the boat

tour. We will end the day at Yardenit for those that wish to be baptized.

Overnight- Haifa or Tiberias


Wednesday - Day 4

Our first stop will be Megiddo and then head south to Jerusalem. We will view the City

of David movie and walk through Warren’s shaft and Hezekiah’s tunnel. We will then

walk the Pilgrim’s path to the Davidson Center.

Overnight- Jerusalem


Thursday - Day 5

We will visit the Hinnom Valley and see the First Temple Tombs where the Priestly

Blessings were given. We will also stop at Bible Hill and see Bethlehem from Gilo.

We will hike at Nachal Sataf and learn about Biblical agriculture. We will visit Armon

HaNatziv for the best view of all of Jerusalem. We will visit the Israel Museum to see

the Temple Model and the Shrine of the Book. We will end the day with a visit to the

Kotel Tunnels.

Overnight- Jerusalem


Friday - Day 6

We will see the overview from the Mt. of Olives and visit Dominus Flevit—we will

‘see’Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem and see the destruction of the city. We will visit

Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations. In the Old City, we will see Second

Temple Jerusalem and the Roman shopping area- the Cardo.

Overnight: Jerusalem


Shabbat - Day 7

We will visit St. Peter Church in Galli Cantu, learn of Jesus’ incarceration after the

seder. Peter denies Jesus. We will visit the room of the Last Supper and the Church

of the Holy Sepulchre. Shopping time in the Old City. We will have a walking tour on

the way back to our hotel.

Overnight: Jerusalem


Sunday - Day 8

We will take the cable car or hike up Massada. We will have lunch and a swim at the

Dead Sea. On our way back to Jerusalem, we will see Qumran.

Overnight: Jerusalem


Monday - Day 9

We will visit the Garden Tomb and drive to the Mediterranean to visit Caesarea. We

will also visit the Templar colony in Tel Aviv. Departing dinner in Tel Aviv. Late night

flight back home.

Tuesday - Day 3

We begin the day with a view of the Ginosar Valley from Mt. Arbel. Learn about the

topography of the Galilee along with its agriculture and Jesus’s life in this part of the

country. We will visit Capernaum, Peter’s home and synagogue. We will take the Boat

Tour of the Galilee and visit the Jesus Boat at Ginosar. We will also see the Migdal

Synagogue and village. For those that wish, we can experience Baptism at Yardenit.

Overnight: Haifa or Tiberias


Wednesday - Day 4

We begin the day with a visit to the crusader fortress at Belvoir as we drive south

towards Jerusalem. Upon arriving in Jerusalem, we will see the City of David movie,

and walk through Warren’s Shaft and Hezekiah’s tunnel. We will then walk via the

Pilgrim’s path to the Davidson Center, within the Old City.

Overnight: Jerusalem


Thursday - Day 5

Rabbi Don Peterman, MAJCS has been teaching Hebrew in various forms for over 50 years. Don sees himself as a facilitator, by bringing the student’s love for the Bible and the language of the Bible together so that translation from the original Hebrew becomes unnecessary. Don loves to travel in Israel and is an enthusiastic amateur archaeologist.
