Tel Aviv is a modern city that has something for everyone. One of its suburbs is the ancient city of Jaffa (also spelled Yafo). There are venues open 24/7, for those who want a vibrant night life. With its mix of layout, architecture, and beaches it is a wonderfully walkable city. Add in niche cafes, unforgettable bars, fabulous restaurants, romantic beach sunsets, and you have a city that is cosmopolitan yet laid-back. And a traveler’s delight.
Here are some of our favourite things to do:
- Need some gifts? How about visiting the Zielinski & Rozen Parfumerie! This little shop is located in old Jaffa and they make customized scents for perfumes, oils, lotions. The decor, the packaging, the aromas!

- Okay, back to Jaffa, but this time the beach. Don’t get us wrong! The beaches in Tel Aviv are wonderful, boisterous fun! But in a neighbourhood just south of Jaffa, down charming stairways and alleys is the charming Mediterranean Ajami Beach, just south of Jaffa’s piers.

- The Tel Aviv Museum of Art is one of Israel’s leading cultural institutions. In its three buildings you will find local art and international art, the works of old masters and modern artists. To learn more about its exhibits, calendar and location, visit their website.

- Ready to dance? May we suggest Tel Aviv’s The Block. It is considered to be one of the best nightclubs in Israel. While it is not off the beaten path for Israelis, most Israel tours won’t tell you about it. With a custom made analog sound system, inspired by the best New York City clubs of the 1970s and 80s, The Block hosts the top international house and techno talent from around the globe and will keep you moving all through the night.
